Format: Match Play
The league is made up of 32 two-man teams
broken into two flights, based on the low handicap player of each team.
Teams will be competing in a 9-hole match for 11 points. The team (net)
match is worth 1 point per hole for a total of nine and 2 points are awarded
for gross total. At the end of each five-week period there will be a Bud
Light Fun Night/party with awards for the best performing teams in each
flight for that period. Teams will be awarded 11-points for participation
in fun night and there will be additional prizes for winners. The eight teams
in each flight with the best cumulative totals will advance into the playoffs.
Playoffs will commence August 30th.
Bud Light Fun Night:
May
10th – 2 club team scramble
(each player selects 2 clubs)
June 14th – Alternate shot
July 19th – Chapman
August 23rd – Scramble (full
bag)
September 13th – Yearend Scramble (4 man) and BBQ – all
players
Handicaps:
One half of the
IGA handicap (nine hole match) will be used for all players. A maximum of 4 strokes (for nine holes) between
partners is allowed (higher handicap players will be reduced to meet
this requirement). All players must have a current IGA handicap.
The Falcon Crest staff will compute handicaps for league play and post
nine-hole scores in the IGA system.
Substitutions:
It
is recommended that each team register 3 players to avoid the need for
substitutions. A team with three players chooses
which team members will play weekly matches. A league player may
substitute for any team until the fourth five-week period, when subs
are not allowed. Teams are allowed to use a sub that is not a member
of the Bud Light League (during the first three periods), however, outside
players will play with a zero handicap. A team cannot be
made up of two subs on any given night.
No Shows:
When
a team’s opponents fail to show, the team will
be required to play their net best ball against par for one point per
hole and automatically awarded the 2 gross points. The no-show
team will be given a score of –1.
Penalties: If
an entire team misses more than two league nights the team is eliminated
from league – no refunds will be given!
