The John Borbonus Memorial Foundation Scholarship 1. Purpose The purpose of the John Borbonus Memorial Foundation Scholarship is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher education of high school seniors based on evidence of a high level of academic achievement, community involvement and contributions to the game of golf during high school. 2. Eligibility Applicants for the John Borbonus Memorial Foundation Scholarship must be high school seniors who have or plan to complete high school prior to September 1st. They must also be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full time student at an accredited college or university located within the United States. A full time student is defined as one who is taking 12 or more hours in a course of study leading to a traditional associates or baccalaureate degree. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA based on a 4.0 grading scale. Students with distinguished honors should be noted. Applicant must be a resident of the State of Idaho. 3. Scholarship The John Borbonus Memorial Foundation Scholarship is designed to award high school seniors scholarships, provided they have met the required guidelines. The amount of the scholarship is determined by the availability of funds. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of The John Borbonus Memorial Foundation Scholarship Committee and ultimately the Board of Directors. The number of scholarships to be awarded may vary from year to year as a result of IRS guidelines concerning private scholarship foundations and funding. |
